@Seth Glause If your offer does not have an expiry date/time on it, then have your realtor submit an amendment restating the purchase price and put an expiry date/time on it.

In that case,  ask your attorney to request that the bank submit an "Amendment to purchase and sale agreement - Change in closing date" for your signature.

Do I just forward the signed amendment to the lender and say, guess what, the price (and loan amount) is now lower?
