A 4.5% move on a 40 P/E growth stock that had run up 40% in the preceeding 3 months is barely a footnote these days.Everyone just has such a desire to see failure out of the hand that feeds them they'll rush to the keyboard to make a mountain out of less than a mole hill. 

I know of the typical promote/carried interest used in RE/PE where say an 80/20 split is on the profits above the hurdle rate.

Plus most urban cities and suburban municipalities require a PE or RA for alterations, additions and changes in use/occupancy/egress/zoning.

.#2----you go with the repair company that has a contract or working relationship with a PE, so that when they are done with the work, the engineer/PE will sign off on the post repair work.

The PE world stretches all the from something as large as a Carlye Group fund down to investing in your local barbershop and everything in between.
