Last year, my husband and I purchased an investment property in Salt Lake City that we turned into a short-term rental.

It is very seasonal, on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Having said that Minnesota does not have termites due to our weather so we don't do pest inspections, we don't require hurricane insurance, or earthquake coverage, but many but not all lake properties require flood insurance. 

So the current situation I have is what route to take, I am currently looking a potential townhome for 500k in the salt lake valley 5.1% interest rate on a FHA with 3.5 down. 3 bed 3 bath, unfinished basement.  

In Cleveland, we get 4 seasons but at weird times due to lake effect snow.

A few weeks ago I published a post on FaceBook outlining the sale of my cabin in the Moonridge neighborhood of Big Bear Lake, highlighting how I was able to sell above list and also above the Zestimate.

They have a water leak and it’s been about 2 weeks. it’s going directly underneath my house to the point that it looks like a lake under my house.
