What other expenses are there (snow removal, lawn care, internet, utilities)?

While the wealth of knowledge and experience on BiggerPockets is wide and deep, I would not trust a decision like this to the internet, I would ask you CPA and if you do not have one find one who specializes in this sort of thing.

Search around on the internet or possibly if they’re friendly at the local town offices and create a list of group home providers.

Why don't you "do better" and be kind to Internet strangers instead of leaving them condescending messages?  

You can buy something like a cheap Arlo camera system at Costco and pay for the Internet connection in one of your units.You could ask law enforcement to do routine drive-bys or safety checks.

You gambled your investment capital on an internet investment-promoter.

When I look up this question on internet, it always says that in NYC, its the tenant who pays ...but in reality I am told that about half of Brooklyn listings are no fee (meaning that landlord pays) in order to get it rented fast.   

I see this constantly out in the market place those who want to jump in the RE world that have limited to no resources and they are far to worried about what the equity or money partner is going to make.. or they spend months trolling the internet trying to find that private investor who is happy with 8% or 10% which they never find and they just lose the dream   ... if there is not enough money in a deal to split profit or be able to comfortably pay HML  then the deal is too skinny to start with..

How do I find out which neighborhoods are up and coming on the internet.

First of all sure, maybe you did it and had good time, buttt from what I've read all over the internet its basically crap.
