you may be able to find what you need at the "habitat for humanity restore"I've found a few good things there. otherwise check out the craigslist 'free' section. people just toss out things that we occasionally want.

I like both of these places for appliances as they do free delivery and set up (I know lots of landlords use craigslist for used appliances but I'm getting too old to haul these around and both these big box stores always seem to have these items on sale anyway).I've found nice lighting fixtures at my lost Habitat for Humanity store.Gail

@Mary Mitchell but yes, upstairs lady should have a habitat that she can sleep in without excessive noise.

We have both Habitat for Humanity (those people invest 500 hours in the construction of their neighborhood and then have a mortgage to pay back ALL of the cost of their home).

I’ve been really curious about real estate for the past 5 years and that curiosity primarily comes from my involvement in Habitat for Humanity.

Look to see if Habitat for humanity has a "Restore" near you.List on Homeaway and airbnb, over time you will see which is more successful in your area and which is your personal preference.
