Here is another idea: Pay with a credit card for the initial and if the roofer does not start, you can call the cc co. show the contract violation and have the charge reversed.

He paid $95k for it ($80k on a HML at 14%, the rest on CC- was 0% now blended at 11%)A family friend/contractor agreed to do the work in exchange for profit- a 60/40 split (this was the best option since my friend didn't really have the funds to pay someone up front).

Most cc companies will not report to your personal credit report until you are 90 days late but times are a changin' & im not sure what the recourse will be from these current times.

Emailed them my original message with date & time by forwarding my original message I had sent to them & after a couple of hours someone responded apologizing for not sending out the course & that it would get sent out right away and to send the last 4 digits of the CC used & address.

Remember that 0% CC doesn’t mean 0 payment, you still have minimum payments to make or they could charge a higher interest rate.
