There was some cold air coming through the wall by the inlet and outlet (where the pipe goes into the floor) so I used foam to seal those cold areas.

The living space and bathroom were unpermitted additions when my bf bought the home - this was not remedied with the city/county, so subsequent upgrades (minor - new windows, moving some outlets, removing a wall, etc) were also not permitted.

1. for rentals, we use a good quality sprayer and can do a whole house in about 2 hours, one guy moving the sprayer and paint and one spraying. prep takes longer, tape off outlets, windows, lights etc. 2. for rehabs, we use a sprayer for the white ceiling, then spray the trim and doors in gloss white. we will roller the walls. on rehabs well leave the doors on and spray over the hinges, since we always install new knobs and hinges in satin or oil rubbed bronze.

A previous owner might have wanted to put outlets on a wall in an adjoining unit and just put outlets in by daisy chaining the power that is there for the questionable unit.You can figure this out by turning the power off in the adjoining units and testing outlets and switches in those units.
