I cant remember which podcast I was watching but the phone number on his postcard that he sends to homeowners sends them to a pre-recorded message that sort of qualifies the homeowner and then they can leave a message. 

@Stefon Bostick If you want to hit every house and are ok with a large postcard or oversized envelope, go with EDDM.

Preferably forever postcard stamps.

I got 11 calls from 2451 sent postcards...8 of the 11 were actually real absentee homeowners with a home.So a low reply rate(less than 1/2 a percent), but great learning by doing.Good luck!
