Send callers to pre-recorded message

I cant remember which podcast I was watching but the phone number on his postcard that he sends to homeowners sends them to a pre-recorded message that sort of qualifies the homeowner and then they can leave a message.  I want to do this but I think he mentioned a service he uses for it and cant remember what it was.  Im not sure if you could just use regular voicemail or not?
