Heck, in most jurisdictions you need a license to cut hair when you start offering services to the public.The fact is, generally, within any specific RE office, Sales or PM, only the licensees can perform those RE activities.

@Jeff KobernusThat sounds a hair high for a short term policy but it’s not cheap, statistically vacant homes under renovation have way more claims than a standard home owners or landlord policy.

It is very unlikely you will be able to do it.The title company will probably not give a commitment not because of the time period but because it will take an affirmative action of the mortgage company to stop the auction.If I wanted to do it I would do the following....1)  Have the owner find out how much it would take to get the loan reinstated from their mortgage company.
