I almost bought my first home (duplex) under a special Soft-Second mortgage program, that had income limitations to be eligible.In a nutshell, the way it worked was participants could buy a house for up to $65K more than what they qualified for by a participating bank and the "difference" would be funded by the program as a soft-second mortgage.
