I have started documenting email/text communications, pictures, getting my timeline right, re-reading the agreement we signed and essentially building my case if needed.Regarding lawyers: I have reached out to a lawyer who has advised that trying to negotiate would be better and less costly, to your point @Mike Dymski, than going to court or arbitration.

Also, the state of formation is likely where internal disputes would be brought among LLC members, so if you and a partner and/or spouse live in CA, you probably want to arbitrate in CA if the two of you had a disagreement.

With regard to insurance: If the claim is already open and you are arbitrating for more pay out then the cancellation will not affect the open claim.
