And city permitting, working w/ architecture, soils testing, etc.?

The issue is to confirm if the soil is contaminated and the extent of the soil contamination.

Hey everybody,I'm helping a client move a piece of land and the buyer wants to do a Phase 1 Environmental Report as well as a Geo-technical report to test the soil.

The house is in Charleston, SC and is a crawl spcae underneath as most houses in SC are like this.

Now when ripping up the carpet we found that there's old tile underneath.

Vegas has some of the lowest tax's in the US.. desert climate as oppossed to thaw freeze or deep south rain clay soils thunderstorms wind etc.. grass that grows a foot in one month  LOL.. and a big one is houses that were built with modern codes most with stucco and tile roofs.. compared to houses that are 50 to 125 years old . 

It may or may not look good depending on what is underneath.  

i would have to assume your local soils are full of clay, requiring a fully grouted wall.Miami Dade as well as the rest of Florida follows the Florida Building Code, which is based on IBC & IRC.

And the mold underneath is kinda scary.Schluter makes some awesome products and the Kerdi membrane system is one I like a lot.

You never know what you'll find underneath the texture.
