You could also put in orange or yellow countertops and popcorn ceilings.

@Debbie Zimmer: If you are going with a high end look and feel, and this is what the area is calling for, then I would create a backsplash out of the very material that your counter tops are made of.

Even worse, the PM didn't have their own counter top installer or used appliance vendor so I had to provide some of my own contacts just to get the apartment turned.
