I assume it's the same in many big cities, but here in Atlanta, with the permitting process so difficult, there are people and companies who specialize in helping get through the permit process.We've spoken with several expeditors, whose fees range from $600 to $1500 for the service, and landed on working with a woman who spent many year working for the building department -- she knows the process, knows the staff and can hopefully bypass a lot of the bureaucracy.
