Welcome to CT real estate investing @Cory Gardner Meriden could be a great place for a new investor as prices are little lower than other areas of the state and there is a lot of long term potential with the downtown/transportation redevelopment that are in the works.

Public transportation appears to be average, buses including 3 new service lines the city started last year.

New hospital, homes, stores, infrastructure and as you pointed out transportation. 

I too am interested in Montclair, I believe that area has a lot of potential and its not too far from a few transportation hubs.

These areas offer excellent public transportation options to NYC and have a vibrant community.

Public transportation for mid-class working people seems to be mostly undesired, making the last point not as important IMO.

We only spend money on our house, insurance, food, transportation, and healthcare.

@Brian Bond Regarding Germantown, on a personal level, I see that the area has a lot to offer - it's one of Philly's most historic areas and still retains a lot of that charm, it has great transportation links to center city and beyond, it's urban in character but still has some great greenery, strong (although needs improving) business corridor.

:)Proximity to the Fremont plant is huge, as it allows Tesla to easily transport components and vehicles between the two facilities.
