I can deal with judgmental people and rejection, I mean all a homeowner can say is no. 

I accepted it the first time but then rejected it after that and plainly told him it wasn't professional to accept gifts from tenants when I'm working for the Landlord because it could create a conflict of interest.

As a LL if that is your cost, you need to find better service provider options.In the couple of rare instances where we've rejected someone based on findings in the credit and background, these people knew they were lying and I'm happy to keep their money.Trying to find good renters in Chicago in the winter is terrible. 

They were giving their honest, unfiltered, opinions.The good thing about advice is you can accept or reject it. 

@John McAllister If it has already gone through 2 price drops, you will likely get it, but if not I think it will get rejected.

I saw a 3-family house and planned to buy and move in as my primary residence and applied for FHA or Fannie Mae financing but I tried with a few mortgage companies and all got rejected so far.
