Nicole A. Reimburse legal fees for rent court?
27 December 2013 | 2 replies
I was speaking with the PM company I use to file my Failure to Pay Rent and Warrant of Restitution papers and she asked if I am getting the fees I pay her (the PM company) reimbursed by the tenant as "Additional Rent".I, for some reason, thought that the money I paid to hire them to do the court stuff for me was just lost money....that I could only get back the actual court fees and late fees. She said that as long as it was spelled out in my lease as Additional Rent, I could add those legal fees to their following month's rent.So far, I drew up this paragraph to add to my lease.
