Was it better than sending out postcards and letters? 

The most important thing is to get letters/postcards in the mail so that you can get deals.  

I sent out about 700 postcards and only got 1 call back and it was obviously unsuccessful.

She was suggesting post cards since she gets a hookup but she can really do anything. 

Setting up Advertising: Post Cards (Approx $1000) My idea of advertising is to use direct mail campaigns.

I've heard stories at my local investor meet ups where sellers hold on to the marketing postcards for months or years and then pull the trigger when they are ready.

You could also start with postcards...they're a bit less expensive.Hopefully now that you're on BP you can get all the info you need to avoid such expensive "lessons". :) I'd just suggest picking one area to focus in on with laser-intensity (i.e.: web marketing, direct mail, signs, door-hangers, etc.).
