To turn your back on that worth potentially says something about a person's character.

Are there questionable looking characters hanging around the area in the middle of the day?

They've added at least $10k in additional costs to the rehab but most disheartening to me is they removed the history and original character of the house. 

Snake oil sales people - Any industry that has the potential for large profits tends to attract unsavory characters that just want your signature on their contract.

Every property has its own character, and you have to work around that so as to make the community a pleasant place to live without it becoming a police state.

To me anything else is a character issue.

Those are things that make the house more worthwhile to the type of buyer that is looking for 'character'.

Collateral , Credit, Capacity and Character...Organized does not hurt.
