Even if you were to use an electronic lock (w/ backup key) at your external common entry, you can still use a master key for the building and have tenants keys work in common doors as required (entrance, laundry room, etc) without the need for multiple keys.

Like its own townhouse, it's private and each unit has its own entrance and 2 spots for parking and location where you can walk if you want to get a container of milk.

If the neighborhood is sketchy you could put those metal mesh security doors on at least the rear...females might like them at both entrances so you can open the door but be locked in.
