The organizers of these events usually have costs for renting the space, flying out speakers, etc. they aren't just pocketing your money.Wholesaling is tough right now in this market, you need to be able to separate yourself from the endless competition out there.

Thats a good point @Chris Seveney, I attended a seminar on notes investing in my local REIA and the speaker mentioned something about the dangers of inviting on out of state notes because of tax implications.

radar went off when these speakers were showing "what I could have" and "i'm not good enough so here's an easy way to get rich" for the first 1/2 of the lectures (and I tried to keep an open mind, but their techniques were just too obvious to me).
