One might consider furnishing area rugs for high traffic areas to protect wood floors.

If its laminate or engineered hardwood, and you are considering an area rug, it may help with insulating but the majority of cold being on grade, is coming from the perimeter so wouldnt adequately be addressed with area rugs.

I check out your listing and that is definitely a easy rent area but again, it is more family oriented and it is going to be a challenge at this time of year with the holidays coming up and such.
