I'm asking specifically for each individual unit, not the main entrances.

Essentially we need a house with a space for an in-law w/ separate entrance,, efficiency kit or able to add one.

Here's what mine says, in part (small MF):(k) Yards, patios, balconies, vestibules, hallways, and entrances may not be used to store belongings or to dry clothes.

I do have a separate entrance and kitchen that allows me privacyIf you're limited to 60 days, select your timing carefully.

The property would ideally need two separate entrances, two kitchens, and some sound proofing work since single-family homes weren't intended for this use.

I was fascinated by the concept and this particular building, Each unit is a 2/2, but one bedroom is Hotel room style with private entrance, balcony and bathroom, the other is living room and kitchen bedroom bathroom with connecting door.It Seemed like a very Solid concept for investors, so I moved into the building I hope to buy in, to do some hands on research and learn the day to Day.Like everything else there are Pros and Cons.

Because the in-law was built with permits, except for the separate entrance and kitchen (added after the inspection), we think it's likely that it would be approved as a legal unit.One problem with this plan is that we can't cover our mortgage + property tax ($2700) with the rent from the top half alone.
