What you're saying is like saying a person who puts their house on the market at a high price is not motivated to sell because they are in the clouds on the price.

Here it seems your desire to be a homeowner is potentially clouding your judgement & the better financial decision is to rent for the 4-5 years and invest the down payment money elsewhere unless a better acquisition scenario presents itself.
