I love to learn new skills, and browsing through the forums, blog, posting, and podcast has definitely brought new knowledge, just not much wisdom yet.

I used to waste my weekends browsing and analyzing properties on loopnet.

Since, I've read a few books, spent countless hours browsing the internet, and have even spoken to my accountant for advice.It all started when I picked up the book, "Why We Want You To Be Rich" by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki.

But flipping for me involves too much risk like what if the place doesn't sell quick enough.I've been browsing the forums and realized a couple of things. #1 is that I do NOT want to deal with war zone properties (none in my immediate area but plenty in Louisville) and #2 is that I know absolutely NOTHING!

Thanks for the replies.I am actively looking for fixer-upper houses, browsing the "raw data" from the local MLS board every week, but I'm not finding any standout, amazing deals.About two years ago I tried doing the whole foreclosure/preforeclosure thing, going through the "Legal News" paper, looking up outstanding mortgages on properties, and contacting the owners who were in a purchasable situation.

After listening to the podcasts and browsing the forums for a few months I can say I've definitely been bitten by the real estate bug.After graduating college with an accounting degree I'm currently working a good job earning about 80k per year with minimal expenses.
