. $1000 for it all including haul away would be a steal here in So Cal.California is a whole different ballgame (actually, a whole different sport) when it comes to prices...I just did a sidewalk in Atlanta -- about $140/yard for the concrete and the labor is probably half of what you are seeing. 

I also have an active social life outside of work with family, friends and sports.

J-Town is more desirable than Buechel for several reasons (sports, lack of multifamily, shopping, etc.).

I've ramped up efforts to buy more lots, but it's blood sport to get the right dirt, at the right place, at the right price.
