They are not attending conferences that you commonly see on these forums, they are not running marketing constantly.  

I have seen some people throw conferences to speak at or podcasts to display their knowledge, others I have seen are very successful displaying their work on social media and then there's people like me who jam out 200 phone calls per day and build their network that way.

I just spoke with Steve Lansbury VP of underwriting at Freddie Mac last Thursday at the MFE conference in Vegas and he said that they no longer have issues with STRs as long as it's under 10% of total units and that they would be willing to discuss it on a case by case basis.

When I said that I was looking for in-person mentorship and that face-to-face interaction was important to me, I was told that I had a 1970s mindset and that phone/email/text/video conference contact is the same, if not better than, face-to-face interaction/mentorship in real estate.

Hey Andrew - my STR clients are pretty dispersed, also spoke with a ton of investors at the Nashville conference recently. 

Sure, what you do will affect those latter two, but nothing about the realtor.Perhaps with in your setup the lawyer and accountant may need to confer, but the accountant will prepare the return according to whatever income/expenses you provide and whatever legal structure your lawyer puts together for you. 

You don't want to place a couple of digital nomads who will be in conference calls all day in the same property as your travel nurse who worked the night shift and is trying to sleep during the day.

Bill Faeth is a large name in the STR industry and puts on one of the largest STR conferences each year with Micheal Sjogren.
