And lets say you buy it for more than the assessment value times the Common Level Ratio, then there may not be any tax owed, (this is dependent on the total estate picture, if the real estate was under water, but there were other assets like bank account, paintings, jewelry, personal property then there would still be tax owed and the Revenue property probably won't release the lien on the property until the total Inheritance Tax obligation is paid for the entire estate.

They can be cash or jewelry from a safe deposit box, stocks, dormant bank accounts, surplus funds from foreclosures (in NJ there is only unclaimed property/surplus funds from judicial-mortgage foreclosures NOT tax foreclosures).

I suggest you do that too.If you were going to begin investing and dealing in diamonds, don't you think it would be logical to understand what those rocks were, how they cut, what different grades were, why they are used in industry and for jewelry or simply left as investment grade before you jump in and start dealing in this area?
