Find a good property manager that you can bend their ear. 

My wife ordered a kid size pool table from China for our STR and they sent ear muffs.

Well I'm not a lender or loan broker but I try to keep my ears open about loan products in Puerto Rico. 

Blood gets thick and the worst part is 10 years later there are new voices in their ears, telling them all kind of crap and filling it with all kinds of ideas. 

The PMC I left to start my own PMC had at least 2 "preferred contractors" related to key players in the office so high rates and poor service fell on deaf ears.

No complaints from neighbors about any loud noise or erratic behavior or anything.

If you make enough noise, and eventually do enough deals, you do make a good deal somewhere along the way. 

I am exploring this area and have heard some noise regarding the further limitations on beach access points along the coast, creating some havoc for str owners.

Challenge: It's in a neighborhood (no HOA), and renting the entire property (sleeps 25 in total) caused problems in the neighborhood, due to noise and parties – so we only rent the separate cabins now.
