Would this be something where your daughter would live and 1 or more of her friends would be roommates?

Pretty sure her daughter was running a program buying there.

I am not looking to leave my W2 and want to make sure that the properties I invest in are solid and would be something I would want my wife and daughter to live in. 

We have recently been informed that the lady who passed did not have a will in place and her daughter and son want nothing to do with the property.

It also serves as a great example of what I tell my college age daughters - email/text is a very hard place to have serious conversations without at least one person getting rubbed the wrong way by what can be inadvertent phrasing by the other party. 

The property is a duplex, and he plans to give all the proceeds from the sell to his daughter.

I like the house hack for your daughter the most because you have a way for her to get going and live with her friends.

I have a DADU over my detached garage that my daughter used to live in, but now she is out on her own so if I want to do a more major renovation (need to refinish the floors and maybe open up the kitchen more), I can move into the DADU as well.
