Steve,Interesting service. 90% of our routine bill payment is electronic now, I only write cheques for a couple of our trades.If these are truly like a bank draft, you as the issuer can sign it back into the originating account, but will likely need to do it in person at the bank.The bit about the Vendor making a cheque back to you is ludicrous.

During those 12-months you only had to pay the minimum amount due, to the credit card, and pay-off the balance amount at the end.I took it to the extreme by doing an "app-o-rama", where I established credit lines of $150K+ between me and my spouse, then routinely did balance transfers on them and earned free interest.

I am researching this last point as I would like to establish whether smoke is a strict requirement of the regulations.I do know from meetings of a landlord association that the big corporate landlords in Ontario are moving to inspect smoke alarms twice yearly as a matter of routine.
