I like multi's with off street parking (transportation to jobs), something that the mills run short of, or its a really long walk. 

The only downside is that it needs to be transported to the location and that may cause some form of stress to the property while en route to its destination.My concern is that when I spoke to the agent who is assisting me, she mentioned that a modular home will not be listed as a Single-Family unit in the MLS.

I think the same people who are willing to take trains (or drive a long commute) will be the same ones treating self driving cars as another mode of transportation.

You can find good neighborhoods and excellent transportation downtown on the South and Southwest sides for a LOT less money than you'd pay where you're looking now.

For those that do not have transportation Can any of that information be obtained online or phone?

The program is online which is nice due to the fact that I work and don't have my own transportation currently.

Making sure they also have a steady supply of wood is another issue in that who is going to pay for the total cost of that, and is it worth the price of the wood + transportation compared to a traditional gas / oil furnace. 

If zoning requires the home be “modular” or installed on site as opposed to transported on a permanently fixed I-beam than you will have to order it as a modular home in the style of MH Advantage.
