Last night I contacted an old friend of mine whose older brother is a real estate agent. He got into the field after getting his masters in a different area, and it just so happened that his friend from high school started his own real estate business and wanted to hire him. I'm considering going for my licence to practice, and getting advice from him to help me reach that goal since he's been in it for a few years.

Is there an age you have to be to qualify? The program is online which is nice due to the fact that I work and don't have my own transportation currently.

18 is the minimum age is my state and most if not all states. Florida also has a minimum age requirement of 18. You must also have a high school diploma or equivalent in most if not all states.

I would recommend getting your agents license to anyone who is interested in real estate. Even if you don't use it to sell or buy any properties it is a very cheap education. In my state it is only about $500 and you learn a lot.
