A contractor is quoting me 7.4 K to remodel two bathtub / showers. 

He brought 2 guys, and they removed the tile surround in the guest bath tub and the shower.

I live on a street where a guy died in the bathtub, in August, and was unnoticed for 12 days.

The unit is completely rehabbed, although I might like to redo the bathtub surround, but regardless.

They broke 3 windows including 2 window frames, 1 door, nearly destroyed the new carpet, there was human feces in the bathtub, removed a ceiling fan, knocked several holes in the walls; drew on the walls with permanent magic marker, etc.

So don't splurge on something that would have a big "wow" factor for today's buyer and bank on it having the same effect in ten years.I'm a big bathtub fan personally, however I think for the future having one bathroom with a walk in shower might be an advantage.
