Two areas have gotten water in it with heavy rains so prefer something at least water resistant.

The Cape will require higher wind-sheer resistances and are often built with cedar instead of vinyl or aluminium because it handles the salt better.

Laminate is rigid and often has wax on the tongues which is supposed to help with water resistance...but it has to help with sliding & tapping laminate under doorjambs, too.  

ABC and Frigidaire are very resistant to replacing the appliance and said that I bought a repair, not a replacement warranty.

The one's that try to push you around for wanting to use a 203k loan are often the most misinformed or just pure lazy and looking for the lowest hanging fruit and a resistance free transaction.

However, I would suggest no other market offers the "bubble-proofing" or at least the strong bubble resistance Texas' major markets do.  

There are various collections of new doors and windows like impact windows and doors, storm proof doors and windows, hurricane resistant, vinyl windows etc.

I had a family member that was bi-polar and saw how unpredictable and damaging the episodes could be due to his resistance to taking meds consistently.
