I'm not willing to have a couple charred bodies on my wallet, much less my conscious.

Developers have to deal with Federal, State or Local authorities for a variety of things (Environmental, Dept. of Real Estate, Planning Depts., etc.)

That can create environmental hazards.

Take into consideration the environmental impact.Then make a informed and prudent decision based on all of the above. :-)

Be conscious of that and you can easily take advantage of each homes potential. 

I can also say that aside from the police department, Denver has a "Department of Environmental Quality" which is MUCH more effective than the police department.

In many cases, you can’t examine the property from the inside and have to guess on its interior condition.You can get stuck with a house filled with building violations and environmental hazards. 

I totally get your point, but have made conscious decisions not to go that route.

In Chicago, about 50% goes to the public school system, a little to libraries, some to environmental protection and parks, public safety, etc.
