That being said my personal experience is that if you are running your business out of CA, you will most likely still have to register to do business in CA, and still pay the $800 franchise tax, so then there isn't a cheaper route because you're either registered in CA and foreign in OH or vice versa, and still pay the same fees.

Remember, you are the one interviewing THEM, not vice versa.As you did in your post, your best would probably be to ask for referrals from other investors in your area.Property management has its benefits but you pay for them!
