Thank goodness I went in soon and found they had taken off as the power was off and there was quite a bit of food in the refrigerator.The room that the daughter with the baby used was the worst; layers of clothes, papers, diapers (new and used) just tossed on the floor. 

I only buy food, clothes, and building materials new.

It's the same reason we see the new pitch on tv for the new and improved "knife set that cuts everything" or the "cloth that picks up everything" marketing if done correctly can make you thousands, and even millions of dollars.

One house that I got was vacant for 15 years, and have everything still there, clothes, furniture, shoes, and all personal items and even a car in the garage.

You can make minor adjustments based on the type of appliances (dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, air conditioning, etc.) and the size of the rental.

They need to walk into an apartment that is fully furnished and equipped with all their needs other than a laptop and clothes. 

Luckily the PA sales pitch educated my enough to not let them haul all my clothes, appliances and electronic away right away the first day.

In this area, one month rent is about $3000.You can ask for any reduction you want, otherwise the house will be left a mess on each open house; clothes everywhere, leave the lounge a mess, bras hanging off door knobs, underpants drying in the shower, no washing up done for at least 3 days beforehand (so the sink brimming with dirty plates, cups, etc).
