The homes I'm interested in are much older than the 1980s/1990s SFH constructions in warm weather climates I'm holding today, and I was hoping to see the repair history to get a comfort level with what I was getting into.Is this an uncommon request, or not?

@John BowlerHere, code requires that all pools have a safety fence and you won't get insurance coverage without it.While I would never rent a property with a pool - the extra liability and costs are not worth any additional revenue in our climate - I would most certainly install a code-compliant fence around any pool before even considering putting it out for let.

It's a shame to have to consider the political climate of a state when making investment decisions, but I guess that's often a big factor in the RE game.
