Commercial Real Estate in Rhode Island

It’s largely residential focused just because that’s the background of most of the members (small residential landlords). But there’s some commercial background/experience as well, and at least once a year there’s a main speaker who’s commercial oriented.Outside of RIREIG I know there’s also an IREM chapter for Rhode Island (iremri.org) and I believe they even have a podcast so that’s definitely something to check out. There’s a commercial offshoot of the RI MLS called RICIE (Rhode Island Commercial information Exchange) which was sort of the RI MLS answer to Loopnet but it’s had mixed success since a lot of the residential agents seem to dislike that MLS forces them to pay for a separate system when the residential and commercial system used to be the same. The RI association of Realtors (RIAR) does have classes throughout the year though so if no one else chimes in with more resources here, one thing you could do is attend some of the commercial oriented classes (there’s a slight upcharge for non agents but they are open to the public) and network with the speakers and attendees in this event classes.

Multi family education program: a scam/MLM?

I would guess 90% of attendees either do nothing or lose money and then do nothing which the educators are aware of.

Spokane REI meet up, who's interested?
4 February 2020 | 17 replies
. - From there I'd love it if attendees with different specializations such as hard money lenders, contractors, property managers, newbies, veteran investors and everybody in-between could present for 10-15 minutes on a topic of their choosing that could then be discussed so everyone can learn from each other.- Finally a live deal analysis conducted by a different attendee every month so we can learn from each others methods.Whilst the meet up will be hosted by me (a Realtor) & a local lender these meetings aren't intended to be a sales pitch for our respective services, they are intended to be a consistent time and place for local, like minded people to get together and talk real estate.Let me know your thoughts below in terms of whether you're interested in a monthly event like this and also what format you'd like for it to take.

What to cover in a real estate meet up
18 February 2020 | 2 replies
If I were doing it, I'd pick someplace like Luigi's Pizza on Crowsnest (if the food is good and if it's a popular place). This looks good because the tables can be pulled together and most people like pizza (a plus if there is beer and wine there too).I'd ask Luigi if he minded if there was a gathering there, and I'd pick a slow time for about 90 minutes maximum, to help ensure there would be enough seating and that it would be relatively quiet inside.I'd also encourage the attendee's to order some pizza or other food or drinks (because Luigi has to make a buck too).As far as the itinerary for the meet, it could be, open discussion meet and greet, or more structured with some type of presentation. And if you have any trouble speaking Italian here's a quick tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
