These rentals are in the central Texas area so conditions like blizzards, snow, prolonged moisture, and extreme heat are not concerns.

I would just make sure it has the nice "backing" that should be moisture resistant and provide a slight "cushion" as well.

It depends on the penetration in to the home.

It can flex around corners, be pulled thru penetrations like wiring can, will swell without bursting in mild freeze situations (unlike PVC and copper).Best of all, it's cheaper then copper and much faster to install which should result in a savings on the labor at least.Give it a Google!

The important thing is to understand where the moisture is coming from and make sure that is fixed.

Most all professionals agree that there are many benefits to plywood cabinetry, not least because they don't expand or dissolve from moisture as pressed wood cabinets do.I would like to ask our esteemed group of rehabbers, if the money spent on plywood cabinets, though minimal, is necessary if the home will be flipped.

There's been some moisture seeping into the crawlspace and the culprit seems to be the grading at garden level.  

Most of our homes are old so I have learned how hard it is to keep out moisture in basements...
