Sam's Club Laminate Anyone?

Question

Does anyone have experience with the laminates sold at Sam's Club? They look really good, and at $1.76/sq ft, price is good.

We used Select Surfaces Barnwood in our first rehab.  Phenomenal product.  We also just recently used another Select Surfaces (not sure of the color) in one of the houses we were putting flooring down in for the homeowner.  They will click without issue, but sometime it is difficult.  All in all, though, I recommend that product.

I have used both the products at Sam's Club and Costco and have never gotten a complaint.  Installation has been a breeze and the total price is better than anywhere else.  I stay with the 14mm stuff because I find they look better and are more durable.  I did have a less than thinner product at Costco two years in but the house sold and I never heard anything from the buyer.

I recommend them both strongly.  In fact I voted for Costco's product today with $2,500.  It was on discount and I really should have bought $10,000 to store for later projects.

I purchased the Sam's club flooring in 2013 for my second floor rental (tedious going up and down the stairs).  The 2nd biggest rental mistake I made.  The flooring looked great at the store.

The issue I had with the Sam's laminate flooring was the tongue that insert into the the other pieces of flooring was rounded and did not create that clicking noise that locks the flooring together.  the laminate would keep sliding away from the other pieces.  We went through 3 of the few dozen cases and decided that I was not happy with the product. We packed it up and loaded it back into that van to return.  We ended up buying from HD with a higher quality product that was easier to install.

Laminate was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made, who knew a renter would ruin $2500 worth of laminate with a mop. As she said "I moped the crap out of it", I just installed my first vinyl plank, will know in a couple of renters how this works out.

Carpet I can go cheap with a rental but get a good pad.as far as tile I would not  go cheap just me.

Looks great.  If you start laying it and you don't like it take it back.  Sams/Walmart will take almost anything back with a receipt.

looks like high quality stuff, $0.99/sqft stuff would suffice for rentals
