When you have living conditions that are in close proximity, you lose some of the privacy that you would enjoy in a single family residence.  

We moved walls, added a laundry room inside the property, added a patio, added privacy fencing, added an automatic sliding gate, closed off exterior doors, added exterior doors, new windows, and all the cosmetic upgrades you'd expect in a flipped house.

There's been a lot written on the topic but most is directed towards guests and their security/privacy protection. 

Some feedback is that the backyard needs a privacy fence (we already have a chain link).

However, on the exterior, I have privacy fenced back yards with designed landscaping, which might get damaged by dogs. 

Yet some tenant may not want to do it out front for all to see (even though legal on private property here) due to past stigma, privacy, etc....Maybe suggesting the backyard, some semi-concealed area with a bush,nor putting up a cheap screen , like lattice, etc, may help...

Since apartments are larger, they are willing to deal with less privacy, and don't mind that there living situation is not very home like.  

(As of writing this) we are currently getting setup (legally speaking) to buy our first notes without exposing our privacy, etc.9.

dogs / kids / privacy   ..For some its just the yard itself that they like.   

Brenda, one more thing: they do have the right and the house should be equipped with privacy locks to keep you out if they are home, but they should be disengaged when the house is vacant.
