Yardi, etc), the financial software out there hasn't been sufficient on the industry specific side (quickbooks, xero, etc), the reporting software isn't industry specific enough and has me paying for way more features than I need like HR/inventory/etc (Jirav, Netsuite, CFO Scoreobard), and industry specific attempts like Stessa require software like quickbooks that it doesn't integrate with well yet.

Other than its beautiful interface which is by far my favorite of all the software I've tried , it seems pretty comparable to other rent collection apps in terms of features (online rent collection, maintenance request tracking, bookkeeping).But what makes Roof stand out is the combination of its tenant features, and the way it organizes communication.

I plan to manage all of the back office functions (marketing, bookkeeping, booking systems, online guest relations etc) from home and hire 2 on-site managers to live there and work 9-hour per day shifts.I plan to automate check-in/out and use door codes, automated greetings, etc.Does anyone own a hotel, motel, or large hospitality property and not live on-site?

For one property, a QBO subscription may be overkill...unless you are looking to scale up rapidly, in which case it pays to develop good bookkeeping habits early on.If you are looking to keep the portfolio size at 1-2 properties, then a spreadsheet should suffice.
