Hi everyone - I have a client who called me the other day to have me check to see if his building was in the approved area for a marijuana dispensary. 

Growing medical marijuana isn't a protected class....so yes I can tell him he can't by DENYING taking him as a tenant.

The next door neighbors smell marijuana constantly coming from inside the house.

While I lived there renting the basement was a nice bump in extra income and the tenants who lived in the basement apartment were pretty easy going, aside from an occasional marijuana small in the house (I allowed them to smoke in the backyard). 

We came upon the fact that this was happening because there was a strong smell of marijuana whenever we entered the building and there were no other tenants in the building.

I found out my tenants are smoking marijuana in the back yard.

DUI, Marijuana related charges I wouldnt care at all.

There have been some updates last year regarding marijuana use, as VA has started to become more and more liberal towards Marijuana..
