I hire a framer to frame, a plumber to plumb, a painter to paint, and a realtor to sell.

Some thoughts: In the bigger construction world, window manufacturers sell the windows to the job but the actual install is done by another trade (e.g. carpenters, framers, etc.).

I also have side work framers and roofers that we call occasionally and we have a go-to local plumbing company and HVAC guy for emergency maintenance calls.

It took an architect, engineered drawings, a general contractor, a framer... total nightmare scenario).  

Lumber costs are great and framers don't come cheap.

Fred Magid Try calling Jones Lumber and Ganahl Lumber, i've gotten some good framers with them.

He was my go to framer/siding guy.

I have a list of subs from updating my rentals but don’t have a good resource to find a good framer and foundation guy.

Meanwhile, I already have a set of contractors (framers, plumber, electrician, HVAC, drywall, etc) so I'm ready to be my own GC and also DIY some of the finishes (trim, tiling, painting, etc).Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

I did shop directly with framers or State Farm but their rate is quite high.
