I want to use mosiac tile backsplash in all of my units because it's a wow factor that I believe will pay off, nobody else uses them and they aren't that expensive to put in.

The second big phase will be a backsplash and then I will repaint my laminate countertop with epoxy, more photos to continue...

If you replace, countertop, cabinets, floors, backsplash, appliancesWalmart: 5-6k w/appliancesTarget: 8-10k w/appliancesNordstrom: 15-17k w/appliancesIf you can salvage cabinets and just refinish them, you will save more money. 

I tiled over tile on a kitchen backsplash once and it turned out very good.
