My focus has always been, more or less, on buy and hold multi-families, and my constellation of companies orbits around that pursuit.I've heard med students say something similar -- they went to school, started learning and discovered, quite unexpectedly, that a field they'd never considered was fascinating to them.

So when we move in about a year and buy our first house, it needs to bought with an exit strategy in mind ie renting or selling (after she graduates med school and we move back to southern Oregon).
