A voter-approved measure effective in January 2019:  removed exemptions for owner-occupied duplexes and triplexes; andallowed the city council to add limitations to the law without an election.Owner-occupied duplexes and triplexes were previously completely exempt from BOTH rent control AND eviction control.

Make sure there isn't anyone on the local council pushing for this type of law or that it hasn't already happened and the owner is trying to dump the park before the word gets out.
